That is an interesting read Dustin.

I disagree with the author on many of his points, but it's still an interesting perspective, and I agree with many of his points.

Some of the points I disagree with:

* "voting for a winner" must denote ego at play and not strategy.

* Anyone with an "I voted" sticker must be smug or holier than thou (you get free swag with those).

* Not voting is somehow "speaking up". (speaking up is speaking up, and I applaud him for doing so, but it doesn't make not voting: "speaking up")

* It is always evil to choose the lesser of two evils. (You work with the options you have)

* Non-voting is not a surrender (It has no effect whatsoever. If for example an election required majority turn-out, then non-voting would accomplish something).

Also I don't see "this is historical" as brainwashing. It is simply a fact that historically this is the first black US President.

I am completely in agreement with you two that the government is a bag of shit though, and it's nice to see someone reads this.

I thought I’d send this to you:

http://www.lewrockwell.com/bardallis/bardallis12.html

I agree with his view, as I didn’t vote. This is just something for you to think about. I will say this, however. I believe that voting is evil beyond what he proposes in his argument.

He states that voting is evil because you are encouraging a failed system to continue. My belief, on top of his argument, is that voting is created to make you feel like you have some sort of power. It is a slow, subtle control that is being exercised over people that do not realize what is happening. The emotion-filled speeches, patriotism, nice-looking candidates; it is all a form of hypnotism. A bit cliché, but a very real possibility is the book 1984. In the book, the Ministry of Truth rewrites history to accommodate the goals of the government. If you’ll notice, during the election, regardless of what you watched or listened to, they repeatedly said, “This is historical” or “This election will go down in history.” You are being told what is important over and over to such a degree that you begin to believe it is important. If everyone around you is having a doughnut, it is often hard to not have a doughnut.

The fact that people are being almost coerced into voting by making people feel guilty, feel social dissociation by , or feel weak and desire change are all methods of manipulation.

The act of voting, in my opinion, is not only harmful to us in the ways that he suggests, but it is also harmful to us in an individual, psychological manner. It allows your brain to get accustomed to relying on mass media to give you instructions about how you view life, and thus, lead life. We all have choices, and I feel that voting is one of the worst ones that you can make for yourself. You are in control of your own mind.

Hiya,

You 2 look like a great couple.
I hope you 2 had fun!
In Holland we don't really have Halloween because everybody already acts like a freak throughout the year, we should have 'act-normal' day ;)

Much wub,

Hi, I'm italian, so first of all i beg you to forgive my english

I recently (less than a week) found for the first time something about the Street Fighter role playng game, and I loved it.
It can be said that I myself are somewhat of a street fighter, and also, I've been playng many tabletop rpg like "D&D" or "Vampire the Masquerade", so the first thing that passed through my mind was "Let's traduce IMMEDIATLY all of this manuals" and so I'm doing.

I naturally started to think about new styles, new manuevers, etc. and I wanted to send compliments to you for the great site, and tell you if you're intersted for some help about updating the site, collaboration or sharing ideas about compiling new techniques etc. or simply talk about the topic.

thanks for your attention, feel free to answer me by email ^^
