So I’ve started riding my bike to work. I can tell I’ll be in great shape from this, but it’s more because the consistency of exercise, not because it is super-hard.
Honestly my ass hurts more than my legs. I need to develop some kind of bony dinosaur thing on my ass via evolution, then I’d be set!
My goals are:
- To be in better shape when I can afford to return to jiu-jitsu than I was in when I left.
- To cut my time to under an hour (I take 1hr 20min now)

I appreciate preloaded software on a new PC like I appreciate prescratched paint on a new car.
Why can’t you order a pc with windows without getting shitty proprietary software from the people who sold it to you (dell, hp, etc).
Useless programs are the enemy, 99% of setup should not involve deleting shit.

I just came up with a great idea.
You should have to get a certain score on an IQ test to be allowed to vote.
What the hell’s the point of majority rules if the majority is stupid?
Is that elitist?

Gert got stung by a bee or something. She was limping and barfed, then later scratching like crazy and swelling (alergic reaction?). She was putzing around like she would die, I carried her all the way home she was so pathetic.
After a half a benadryl and some soothing shampoo she was doing much better. Better still after a good nights sleep.

They finally released the last patch for Neverwinter Nights.
There is a LOT of content in there that people have been begging for!
What a great game to still be updating after so long.

I decided to see how far I could bike towards work in 1 hour last night. I made it 10.25 miles. Basically all the way from Leonard to 54th St. I wasn’t really that tired or sweaty afterwards either.
Since 76th St is only 3 more miles away, I have determined that I can easily make the 13 mile trip to work if I can get up early enough for an hour and a half commute.
Yay free transportation and free excercise!
Boo high gas prices!

I finally got around to getting my old BMX put back together (I had brought it up from AL last visit). While ridable, it still needed a lot of work I am not ready to invest just yet.
What it did however was remind me how fun riding is, and I bought a cheap mountain bike off of craigslist. Had a blast riding it around the neighborhood and I’m planning on maybe taking it to work when weather permits.

It started as just volunteering to do web design for a local charitable non-profit, but ended up with me being on the board of directors. I just attended my first meeting.
The group organizes fun events (very golf-centric) and then donates the proceeds to needy families (something Sgt D had been doing before he made it a non-profit)
Still waiting on 501c3 status (applied for).

My brother and his family came up to visit for the 4th and we had a cookout.
Played some Guitar Hero, frisbee and cards. Went to a museum. Watched the downtown fireworks from the park. It was fun.
Didn’t begin (rain) or end as I would have liked but a lot of fun anyway!
I’ll post pics if I get any from him. He was the only shutterbug this time.
