Words of wisdom, from the Green Goblin

March 19th, 2008

This is why only fools are heroes - because you never know when some lunatic will come along with a sadistic choice. Make your choice, and see how a hero is rewarded. (-paraphrased)

Sometimes that feels so true, ha ha ha. Life would be so much simpler if I wasn’t good.

Sorry temptation, I win this round…

Haircut

March 18th, 2008

I think I’m going to shave my head again…

Emo-bangs were a fun trip back to my High school days, but alas, I remember how annoying it is to have to fix my hair again.

Not to mention how annoying it is to grapple with hair in jiu-jitsu.

Dog Murderer

March 15th, 2008

I swear, if one more dog comes running up to my dog growling, off a leash, in a public park, I’m going to stab it in front of the owner.

Total strangers do not like physically managing your bad tempered pet assholes.

Furnace Trouble

March 10th, 2008

Holy crap, when I got home from Chicago the furnace was out and the house was freezing. I have to wait freezing for days for a part to come in, sucks.

On the plus side though, it makes you appreciate the things you normally have.

Trip to Brendan’s

March 8th, 2008

Fun at Brendan’s in Chicago.

In honor of Gary Gygax we played 1st edition “Tomb of Horrors” Module. Sooo out of date, but strangely still playable.

Oh and I made a kid cry, that sucked.

Also he completed his Tiger Mural, which I air-humped because it is awesome.

I’ve added WordPress

March 5th, 2008

To learn how to make WordPress themes, I have changed MattMeade.com over to WordPress. The basics are done but expect a few tweaks to the theme in the near future as I iron out all the details.

To have a hard copy and keep everything consolidated, I will be transferring all my Myspace.com blogs to MattMeade.com and stop updating the blog at Myspace.com.

RIP Gary Gygax

Gary Gygax, creator of Dungeons and Dragons died today at the age of 69.

RIP

2008 Arnold Grappling Championships

March 4th, 2008

A pretty positive experience, I had a lot of fun (which is why I do it). Got to beat a guy, got to do a sweet flying armbar. And I did things how they ought to be done, so I wouldn’t feel like apologizing to anyone afterwards (unlike one of the guys I fought).

No medals this year.

Oh, and the best part was after really busting my hump to make cruiser-weight, I weighed in at 195.5 (clothes on) which is a new personal best, down from 223. (This new years resolution is working out pretty well)

Also good was that my chiropractor fixed me up very well so that my recent neck thing was a total non-factor.

The only thing I would have changed is the MAJOR overcrowding problem. I’m no stranger to conventions but this was ridiculous. And going to the bathroom was like visiting a stadium full of Katrina survivors.

I would have maybe liked checking out some more of the convention too, I kind of rushed out to get home in time to watch UFC with my boys.

(and I suppose I could have done without the bruised ribs, heh)

I’ll post video later, got to rehydrate now from cutting weight.

Over-crowding

This is what happens when you don’t provide enough room for people and their shit. It’s a pile of shit and people.
