Storm Giant

I drive alone through the darkest day
As a storm rains down and it blocks my way
I cannot see and start to slip
But I’m still the captain of my ship
Because I know something storms do not
And I slayed demons when we fought
And I have scars that tell the tale
To me alone when I turn pale
And feel my heart begin to drop
Their voices will not let me stop
“You’ve seen and done much worse…” they say
“…than what you’re facing here today”
I hate the way they love to tease
My only voice at times like these
I feel no pity for the day
That sends a storm to block my way
It should have asked about me first
I’ve faced much bigger, do your worst
