Thirty-three
January 19th, 2010I’m 33 today and it’s the best birthday ever.
In fact, my whole life is better now than it has ever been in the past.
Thanks to God and everyone who helped along the way.

I just passed a lady in the mall with a monkey riding on her shoulder. I asked if I could take a picture and she said “no” which I thought was pretty rude.
When I got to the other end of the mall I saw that he was actually an attraction there, and you could pay to get your picture taken with the monkey.
All around him were signs (seriously there were like 4) that said no pictures. I wanted a picture but didn’t feel like explaining to them that legally I can take a picture of anything I can see in public…
…so you get no monkey pictures today.
Got like 11 hrs sleep last night, I was catching up from only getting 2 or 3 the past few nights (which was making me cranky). Feeling pretty good and wondering why I don’t get sleep more often…
Sunday I went to a play at a church with Jose and Jen. It was really well done for a local church-play!
Of course there was the expected level of corniness (showing too much skin for the period, wearing make-up, way too much equality for the period) but the singing and the dance choreography was top notch.
On the way home we stopped for dinner where a strange man who worked there was desperate for our approval.
Good times!

A play about religion
Later, Faye and I got caught up on the most recent “Dexter” available from Netflix.
Saturday the guys from our local Street Fighter scene traveled to a state-wide tournament together to compete. We did pretty well, I got 13th out of 40-50 and one of our guys got 4th. I will post video ASAP.
I was happy with my play for the most part, the only big mistake I made was thinking I could push around Luis’ Sagat (I don’t know why that is stuck in my head, maybe because he was so bad when I first met him) but up till then I was on point. Nothing worse than blowing a tournament because you were jsut having an off day or the pressure got to you, so I was glad that didn’t happen.

Here's a cool Halloween / Michael Meyers customized arcade stick from the tournament.
Also it was fun just because it was a road-trip, and I feel like I know the guys I traveled with a little more than I did before.
When I got home it was time to watch UFC with Jose! I have been missing watching fights at his house lately so this was long overdue. BJ Penn and Kenny Florian won as I predicted.
After UFC Mike, Brian, Cody and me went sledding at the park which was ridiculously fun. We hit a few jumps on the way down the hill, and I even got to test my frisbee theory (…that you can sled down a hill on all fours using only four frisbees.)
Old HS friend via Facebook:
Kelley: lol i do remember the time i made you take a drag off my cigarette for what was left of my happy meal…
Matt: lol, damn that’s 2 things in 2 days people have told me about my past that I have no recolection of AT ALL
Matt: does that make you feel like a big man pushing little Matt Meade around and forcing him to smoke? lol
Kelley : we were downtown… lol i thought it was funny… all for some cold fries and a chicken nugget lol
Kelley: i did feel bad about it a few years later when i saw you at the mall and you were smoking, you threw the cigarette in the trash and caught it on fire
Matt: wow, I was fucking badass
Bonus Material:
Kelley: i wish my grass was emo lol
Kelley: so it would cut itself… hahaha
I have transfered over my posts from Facebook and Deviant Art now as well.
That was easy as there weren’t very many of them, I didn’t use it as much as I did myspace which took forever to transfer over.
Normally I have a very good memory, but today I bumped into someone (on myspace) I haven’t seen since probably high school, and they told me a hilarious story about something mean they did to me, which I don’t remember at all.
Either I somehow completely forgot an event (super-rare), they are confusing me with someone else, or they are BSing me.
Kind of weird, as I’m normally not forgetful about that kinda thing. They seem positive it was me. Did I block it out? lol Am I losing my good memory in my old age?

My site was set to private for a while. Now it’s not.
The parts that were no ones business are now self-censored.
While it was locked up I didn’t really post much so things will start to pick up now, and I will begin posting some stuff retroactively.
I’ve resumed transferring over old Myspace blog posts to my new page (here). I started a while back but now I’m really making progress, should be done soon.
Now if I can only remember how to log in to friendster… lol
